Our Pioneer Soap Making Workshops let you observe and get hands on in the soap making process.
First, a brief overview of the history of soap making in the American West. Short explanation of the hot process (also called pioneer process) method, and how lye was historically made. Overview of safety, a few basic recipes, and most common methods used. Hands on experience stirring and observing the saponification process from fats and alkali into soap with authentic materials.

All materials provided. Please bring writing materials if you wish to take notes.
Children welcome! An all ages experience. No charge for children under 10, must be accompanied by an adult.
